The area of more than 16,000 square meters will accommodate not only an extensive book collection, but also a conference hall, more than 20 individual and group study rooms, a cinema, meeting rooms, makerspace and creative workshop for new technologies, recording studio, digitization lab, classrooms, a café, space for young children and many other interesting and useful things and spaces.
Library facilities with depositories, storerooms, book sorting. The modern system allows to minimize staff costs and at the same time speed up the processing of users’ orders.
On this floor, we give space primarily to work with digital technologies and innovations. DIGILAB focuses on digitization as a process in preserving printed information for the future, including innovations in digitizing 3D objects, curriculum, creating methodologies and procedures. As part of the education, there is also an Innovation LAB as a space to learn about modern manufacturing technologies such as laser cutters, 3D printers, etc. The Media LAB, on the other hand, offers equipment for professional audio and video recording (podcasts, music recordings, videos and streaming, their editing and post-production).
An entry area where visitors can inquire about services or reserve study spaces or a place in the library’s educational programs and events. Refreshments are served in the café and tables are available to both consume, socialize with friends, or work with free internet access. There is also a state-of-the-art publications sorting room on this floor, and it is possible to pick up pre-ordered books. Also there are computers with internet access, scanning and printing equipment available. The lobby area is also open at night as a night study room.
Second floor is primarily intended for children, parents with children and teenagers. The goal is to provide an engaging science topics, raise important social issues and inspire creativity. It will also introduce new technologies, their applications in different situations and their use in possible modern emerging fields as careers of the future. Educational activities include working with small robots, programming, virtual reality, creative work in general.
Third floor focuses on presentation activities, project outputs, educational exhibitions and thematic literature attractive for the current times. In the game zone there are game consoles with both leisure and educational games. The Open Stage (Space X) provides space for the organizing of organizing lectures, presentations and other similar events. The study area is suitable for work (on a semi-loud floor i.e. with headphones) for those who want to be surrounded by active environment.
The 4th floor is focused on work and study. In the open space there are open access collections of publications, two smaller study rooms, one large one and desks and places to work on the sides of the space. In addition to the above, there is a cinema/black box, which is used for screenings as well as for other activities of a presentational nature. There is also a computer lab available. In multiple spaces it is possible to work and study both at a desk and in chairs that provide comfortable seating with a view outside.
The 5th floor is a classical library space. It is a quiet space, mainly focused on undisturbed study and research, with the help of the book collection or through access to various professional databases.
The Crea Connect spaces are primarily designated for individuals or communities who share an interest in innovative projects of social or commercial nature. It is a functional platform for sharing information and using library tools and services. In a shared working environment, it is possible to work on an own project (service or product development) or a social activity (discussions, lectures or educational programme).
Library administration with offices. Part of the floor is dedicated to offices for external companies/start-ups, projects that want to grow in the library and use its facilities to prepare, develop and implement new services. The Innovation HUB will also include a program of support services, both educational and practical (use of technology). The Innovation HUB does not provide permanent space, only for the duration of the development of a given project.
8th serves primarily as an administration space for library staff.
The roof provides a leisure space with the possibility of organizing various types of leisure activities. The roof also includes space for storage and a bar that provides refreshments for events. Big window allows you to see over the walls of the roof and get a bird‘s eye view on the city.
